Senator Abba Moro Takes Center Stage as Senate Minority Leader

Abba Moro, a two-term Senator from Benue South senatorial district, has assumed the role of Senate Minority Leader, nominated and affirmed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He succeeds Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon of Plateau North, who was ousted by the Appeal Court.

Moro, formerly the Minister of Interior under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, was elected to the Senate in 2019, succeeding the two-term Senate President David Mark.

Currently serving as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Moro hails from the North Central zone, in line with the Senate’s minority leader zoning to the region.
