Mohbad autopsy would be ready in the next three weeks or four weeks

Dr. Richard Somiari, Director of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Center, announced that the findings of the autopsy conducted on the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, will be made public within four weeks.

Somiari disclosed this during his testimony on Wednesday, March 20, responding to the significant public interest in determining the cause of the singer’s death.

Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, sparking controversies that prompted the Lagos State Government to initiate a coroner’s inquest into the matter.

The inquest commenced on October 13, 2023. During the latest hearing on March 20, Somiari informed Coroner Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi that they anticipated receiving the initial autopsy results within three to four weeks to confirm the cause of death definitively.

“We explored various possibilities, including the potential involvement of poison, as the exact cause of Mohbad’s death remains undisclosed,” Somiari state

He reassured the public about the security and monitoring measures in place for the autopsy sample

“We have established secure storage facilities for items and results, and there are rigorous procedures for monitoring samples sent abroad,” he added.
