The Mo Ibrahim Foundation (MIF), established in 2006, focuses on governance and leadership in Africa, recognizing their pivotal role in improving African citizens’ quality of life.


Fellows actively engage in the Institute’s core activities, enhancing their leadership skills through the program and expanding their professional network in international affairs.


Eligibility Requirements:

– Open to citizens of any African country.

– Dual citizens including an African country are also eligible.

– A completed BA degree or equivalent is required, along with research experience.

– Ideal candidates are in the early-to-mid stage of their careers, from fields like academia, NGOs, business, government, civil society, or media.

– Applicants should demonstrate interest in international affairs, their chosen research area, and Chatham House’s mission.


Benefits of the Fellowship:

– Monthly stipend of £2,365 covering London living expenses.

– Coverage for relocation costs, UK Immigration Healthcare Surcharge, and research-related expenses.

– Access to Chatham House faculty and alumni, along with a five-year membership post-fellowship.
